Batman doesn’t eat
TODAY IN COMIC BOOK HISTORY: August 3, 1947
In the pages of Sensation Comics #68 Helena Bertinelli - I mean Helena Wayne - I mean Paula Brooks made her first appearance as the villainess the Huntress who battled the Golden Age Wildcat.
The Bronze Age Huntress, Helena Wayne, was the daughter of Batman and Catwoman from Earth-2. Trained by her parents in combat, she became a lawyer. But when her mother was blackmailed and eventually killed, she took on the alias of Huntress and tracked down the murderer. She decided to continue superheroing after she accomplished this. She even became a member of the JSA
During Crisis on Infinite Earths, Helena Wayne was killed off and a new Huntress was introduced, Helena Bertenelli. This Helena was the daughter of a Gotham crime boss, and she too sought revenge when her family was murdered in a mob hit. However Bertenelli didn’t have the blessing from Batman as he found her methods to be too violent. He eventually warmed up to her and sponsored her membership into the JLA.
